NEW ORLEANS (June 6, 2024) – R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl officials, in partnership with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, are excited to announce that the 2024 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl will kick off on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 6:00 PM CST. This highly anticipated game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
In its 24th year, the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl will feature teams from the Sun Belt Conference and Conference USA, showcasing top-tier college football talent at the Caesars Superdome. Last year’s matchup featured first-time participants Jacksonville State’s victory over the University of Louisiana, who has appeared in the Bowl seven times.
“This year’s R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl game offers a primetime opportunity to show off New Orleans to a national audience and allows two well-deserving teams to compete in one of the most iconic venues in the world,” said Billy Ferrante, Executive Director of the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. “We look forward to welcoming student-athletes, coaches, alumni and fans for the 24th year to celebrate the accomplishments of these two exceptional conferences.”
The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl and its affiliated events are a time-honored tradition in the city, and the scope and magnitude of Bowl Week grows year after year. Bowl Week in New Orleans generates significant fiscal impact in the Greater New Orleans region, spurring an estimated $20 million in economic impact annually.
This year’s R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl precedes the highly anticipated Super Bowl LIX and serves as one of the final matchups in the Caesars Superdome ahead of the big game in February.
