R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl hosted local youth football clinic
New Orleans, La.– The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, in conjunction with the Tulane University football program, held a free football clinic for high school students on Wednesday, June 4 at Turchin Stadium. More than 125 student athletes, ages 14 to 18, participated in the clinic.
“For the past seven years, the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl has been pleased to be a part of such a positive and impactful event for the youth of the Greater New Orleans area,” said R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Director of Community Affairs Risa Hall. “The event continues to grow each year, and we could not host such a successful event without our sponsors, R+L Carriers and Chevron, and the generous staff at Tulane University.”
Athletes at the clinic participated in several field drills including 40-yard dash, three-cone drills, vertical jump and position-specific training under the direction of the Tulane Football coaching staff. Players received New Orleans Bowl athletic shirts, shorts and bags. The clinic concluded with participants putting their skills to the test during seven-on-seven flag football games.
“I am very impressed with the number of athletes who showed up today and the skills they displayed throughout the drills,” said Tulane Defensive Line Coach Kwahn Drake. “The coaching staff had a great time, and we look forward to next year.”
