2013 R+L CARRIERS NEW ORLEANS BOWL DATE ANNOUNCED
Big Easy to Host Thirteenth-Annual Sun Belt, Conference USA Face-Off, Dec. 21
NEW ORLEANS (May 1, 2013) – R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl officials and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation announced today that the annual R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Dec. 21, 2013 at 8 p.m. (CST).
Bringing in an estimated annual economic impact of $15 million to the city of New Orleans, the game pits current title holder Sun Belt Conference against a Conference USA opponent. University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Ragin’ Cajuns have reigned as champions for the past two bowl games.
The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN radio and ESPN network.
“The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl continues to grow bigger and better each year, showcasing our dynamic city to thousands of visitors,” said Bowl Chairman Ron Gardner. “With record attendance numbers last year, we’re looking forward to an even more successful event this year.”
