Southern Miss made its 16th bowl appearance in the New Orleans Bowl at Lafayette, facing Arkansas State. With its 31-19 victory, Southern Miss improves to 7-9 all-time in a bowl games. Southern Miss also improves to 5-4 in bowl games under Head Coach Jeff Bower.
