Rick Minter Post-Practice Quotes
“This was our final real practice before Tuesday’s game. We kind of treated it like our normal Thursday practice. When you get into a routine, you have to ignore what day of the week it is and practice like you would if you were playing on a Saturday. We’re playing on a Tuesday so that means Sunday is Thursday.
“Once we are through with practice today, we will be inside 48 hours until the ballgame so we will try and keep the players off their feet. We were pretty fair about curfew the first two nights, so that they would have time to enjoy New Orleans. We will have an 11:00 curfew tonight and will go into gameday routine starting Monday afternoon.
“Our two goals for coming to New Orleans were to have an experience for our student-athletes that they will remember the rest of their lives and to win a football game and not necessarily in that order. We’ve given them time to do things on their own this week, enjoy the nightlife and see the town, but starting this evening, its total focus on the game.
“We’ve had two pretty good workouts. The guys were a little tired because they enjoyed the nightlife here. But once they got on the field, they picked right up and we got a lot done. We will be ready to go at 6:05 Tuesday evening.”
