SUN BELT CHAMPION NORTH TEXAS HAS PICTURE DAY IN THE DOME
Dec 16, 2002
Author: Chris Jackson

NEW ORLEANS - Sun Belt Conference Champion North Texas went through final preparations today for the 2002 New Orleans Bowl. The Mean Green, who will face Conference USA champion Cincinnati Tuesday at 6pm (CST) in the Louisiana Superdome, used their final practice day to take team photos inside the Dome and engage in a light workout. The New Orleans Bowl will air on ESPN2.

North Texas quotes:

Senior Cornerback Don McGee:
It's been about 80 percent business out here in our practices. We know we've got a bowl game to go out and play. A couple of guys came up to me and mentioned that this was going to be my last game and I hadn't really thought about that until today. I feel like I've been one of the people who has started to build something great at North Texas. I just hope we
can go out and win our last game on national television."

Freshman Quarterback Andrew Smith:
"As long as I stay focused and keep doing what I've been doing game to game, I think I'll be okay. For me this is another crucial game, just
like the New Mexico State and Middle Tennessee games. And to get a win in a bowl game for the first time in a long time for North Texas would
be great."
