On the New Orleans Bowl
"We can build this game as a championship bowl game, in terms of Conference USA champions against the Sunbelt Conference champions. We're not down at all about going to New Orleans as opposed to going to another bowl. We are very happy that they waited for us and allowed us to come down there. That town will welcome us with open arms, its going to be a great environment and our kids our going to have a great time. We feel proud, taking our team as conference champions against a very good North Texas team."

On North Texas
"We're both old Missouri Valley foes. They're in New Orleans for the second year in a row as a champion. They have 20 starters returning from the team that played in New Orleans last year, so they are used to the surroundings. They went 6-0 in conference, allowing a measly 59 points. They are a great defensive ball club. Much like ourselves, they played a very tough schedule, including Texas and Alabama. They had some very tight, impressive scores against non-league opponents."

On UNT's Offense
"Offensively, they hang their hat on the running game. They average about 181 to 188 yards per game. They do it with Kevin Galbrith, a all-Sunbelt running back. They give the ball as many times to Branch, their wide receiver who is a former high school all-American. They are a solid team that doesn't make a lot of mistakes."

On the Fast Turn Around
"We're not complaining. Sometimes bowl practices can become stale to your players, because there is a month between games. We don't have to worry about that. We will lose a lot of prep time for the young players, but our coaches will have the players prepared. Between now and next Tuesday, we will have taken all our finals, finished all of our bowl preparation, traveled to New Orleans, along with several bowl related functions. Its scary how much we will do. We'll adjust and overcome all of that."

On Fans Making the Trip
"I hope our fans can come down there and support us. We would love to have a great following down at the Big Easy. I think our kids deserve it, but I know it will tough for our fans to make the trip with the quick turnaround and the Christmas City."
