Rams face Sunday workout, Final Exams

Fort Collins, Colo./Dec. 8, 2001 - Colorado State University's football
team faces a couple of challenges in the coming week.

For starters, head coach Sonny Lubick will put his team through a
90-minute practice session Sunday as the team continues preparations for
its New Orleans Bowl game with North Texas on Dec. 18 (ESPN-2; 7 p.m.
CT/6 p.m. MT). The Rams, Lubick said Saturday, then won't practice
either Monday or Tuesday, before returning to the field Wednesday for
the first of two workouts prior to the team's departure for bowl
headquarters in New Orleans.

"We're doing a little more each day to prepare for North Texas. I
thought the workout Saturday was good in that regard. The players
worked hard, and we're adding more each day," said Lubick.

Following Sunday's workout, Ram players then will focus on fall
semester final examinations, which begin Monday.

"We'll have them back out here Wednesday and Thursday, but we know that
their focus is on finals, where it should be. We'll get done what we
can, then get ready for the trip. We have two more solid workouts in
New Orleans, and hopefully that's enough to get ready for the game," he
said.

The Rams gained bowl eligibility by winning four of the team's final
five games, losing only to BYU, which is currently ranked among the top
10 teams nationally. Colorado State accepted the invitation Nov. 28 to
face North Texas in the New Orleans Bowl.

North Texas earned a spot opposite the Rams by winning the Sun Belt
Conference, including five straight wins at the end of the season.

Lubick Monday morning will participate in a New Orleans Bowl media
teleconference from 10:30-10:50 a.m. (MT), followed by sessions with
Rams' wide receiver Pete Rebstock and defensive back Aaron Sprague. For
