DENTON, Texas- A steady rain and cold temperatures moved the North Texas practices indoors this afternoon as they continue to gear up for the New Orleans Bowl on December 18th. With the change of venue the Mean Green divided up practice sessions with the defense going first followed by the offense.
"Even though we would prefer to be outside we were still able to implement some important steps in the preparation for Colorado State," head coach Darrell Dickey said. "The team did a good job of keeping their focus which might have been difficult if we would have been outside in the rain."
The forecast for the next few days in Denton is favorable and should allow the Mean Green back out onto the practice field.
"It was good to be indoors we were able to get a lot of good things accomplished," quarterbacks coach Ramon Flanigan. "This was a welcome break for most of them because they are in the middle of finals and this provided them a release from their studies."
North Texas will continue with light workouts on Wednesday and Thursday before heading down to New Orleans on Friday.
